Marketing and Communications Manager Role
We are looking for a Marketing & Communications Manager to support the Sales Team and the Online Marketing Team. The role encompasses communication coordination, business development support, PR activities, and events management. Role requirements:
- Develop and maintain marketing strategies: oversee all marketing, advertising, promotions, and events. Evaluate customer research, market conditions and competitor activity;
- Develop marketing collateral: coordinate internal and external communications by writing copy for Lab Lateral's website, including news releases, and any required marketing materials, such as brochures and product information sheets. Liaise with designers and directors to ensure all marketing collateral adheres to company branding and is on-message. Research and write case studies to be used in the sales process.
- Perform PR duties: promote the company in local and national media by identifying media contacts and writing appropriate press releases.
- Manage event participation: organise the company's presence and promotion at events. Identify relevant events and sponsorship opportunities, set up a project plan, and manage the stand from furniture to graphics to marketing collateral. Ensure budget is adhered to.
- Manage company newsletter: write and manage the production of a company newsletter, highlighting the company's latest activities to its clients and potential clients.
Expected Skills and Experience
Given the nature of the role, the successful candidate must have a solid B2B marketing background, with an understanding of the IT sector. Experience of developing high quality sales and marketing collateral is essential. You must be a self-motivated and commercially aware individual with a proven track record in similar marketing and communications roles. The ability to demonstrate a high degree of strategic thinking as well as being able to deliver on the practical aspects of the role is essential.
The successful candidate must have:
- Commercial insight and understanding of the IT and particularly web-focused sector;
- B2B marketing experience;
- Excellent written and oral communications skills;
- Proven copywriting and presentation skills;
- Project management and organisational skills ;
- Good IT skills for the creation of materials;
- Initiative and enthusiasm;
- Self-confidence and self-motivation;
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and management.
Operational Requirements
The chosen candidate will be based in our Woking office in Surrey. The position is part-time, consisting of the equivalent of 2 to 3 days per week with flexibility in choosing working hours.
It is likely that a small amount of travelling to attend meetings and events will be required.
A full clean driving license will be required and staff will be able to use the Lab Lateral pool cars for business travel.
